Deputy Clinical Director, Spectrum, Statewide Services Eastern Health About the role The Deputy Clinical Director holds responsibility for delivering high level clinical leadership and governance to Spectrum's clinical activities in accordance with Spectrum’s organisational chart and clinical governance procedure.

As a member of Spectrum’s leadership team the Deputy Clinical Director contributes to the ongoing improvement of Spectrum and the broader Statewide Services program.
The Deputy Clinical Director deputises for some aspects of the Associate Director or Executive Clinical Director roles in their absence.
About you
Essential
- Must be a registered medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (AHPRA) of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of contemporary psychotherapy and personality disorder and complex trauma treatment practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional standards and work practices.
- Advanced communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including an ability to complete clinical records, and to provide clear information to a wide range of stakeholders and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Significant conflict resolution experience.
- Willingness to engage in a leadership role.
- Willingness to attend regular supervision with the Executive Clinical Director
- Computer literacy
Other
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and vision in the planning and development of clinical projects and to develop creative solutions to complex systemic and organisational problems.
- Demonstrated experience in research and/or education training activities relevant to personality disorder and complex trauma.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership for complex clinical situations.
- Research experience in the fields of personality disorder and complex trauma as demonstrated by academic refereed publications or reports.
- Demonstrated ability in policy development, service development and planning
- Demonstrated experience in teaching of medical under- and post-graduate students
- Extensive experience and demonstrated ability to work with clients with severe personality disorders particularly borderline personality disorder and complex trauma disorders as well as relevant public sector treatment systems
- A sound knowledge of the literature on the understanding and treatment of clients with severe personality disorders particularly borderline personality disorder and complex trauma disorders
- Hold a current drivers licence.
Desirable
- Advanced Training in psychotherapies certificate from RANZCP
- In addition to clinical qualifications (above), postgraduate qualification(s) in health or public sector leadership.
- Advanced therapeutic skills in group and/or individual therapy with clients with severe personality disorders particularly borderline personality disorder and complex trauma disorders
- Experience and/or qualifications in pedagogical frameworks suited to the public mental health sector
- A demonstrated ability to innovate and develop services relevant to Spectrum’s mission.
- Research experience in the field of severe personality disorders particularly borderline personality disorder and complex trauma disorders, as demonstrated by publications in academic refereed journals.
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
