HIGH BAND

Short waves cover a small area and are capable of transmitting data super fast, but cannot penetrate buildings.

MEDIUM BAND

Medium-length waves provide a balance between speed and range, covering a large area with fast speeds.

LOW BAND

Long waves have a huge range and are not affected by obstacles, so can bring 5G to more places.

5G networks can be built in different ways, from various bands of the wavelength spectrum: low band, mid band and high band.

High-band millimeter-wave frequencies have more bandwidth available to transfer more data in dense urban areas, but also need cell towers to be close, and have limited building penetration. The mid band balances speed and range, offering wider coverage than the high band and is less affected by buildings. However, much of its bandwidth is already in use, so the 5G signal cannot grow much further. The low band, like our powerful 600MHz spectrum, travels further than other bands (hundreds of square miles) and can pass through more obstacles, providing a better and more reliable signal both indoors and outdoors.
