Lancaster, Ohio Warren "Pete" Sobataka 1946 — 2024 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Pete (Warren) Sobataka, 77, after a lengthy illness. Pete was born in Charleston, West Virginia on May 19, 1946, to Barney and Hazel Sobataka. Pete spent his formative years in Jackson, Ohio where he excelled academically and in sports. He was most proud of being a member of the record-setting basketball team. Pete enjoyed his senior year in Marietta, graduating from Marietta High School in 1964. He went on to attend Ohio University where he became a proud Bobcat, joined Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. She was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, daughter of the late Richard Backus and Eloise Stephens. David was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who served during the Vietnam War. He graduated from the Mississippi Highway Patrol Academy and went on to join the Biloxi Police Department.
